Program Speaker:
Jay May is a retired Geophysicist living at the Landings Airpark in Granbury. He and his family moved here in 2021 from Midland, TX. He is a private pilot flying a Taylorcraft he restored from the ground up, and a Gyrocopter he built.
Jay is a member of the North Texas Civil War Roundtable, and has long been interested in Civil War technology. Few people know about Abraham Lincoln’s support in the creation of the US Army Aeronautics Corps which utilized a squadron of balloons. The Aeronautics Corps were responsible for supporting the Union war effort through aerial reconnaissance of Confederate armies both on land and on sea.
This is sure to be an uplifting program, see you all at the hangar!
