As the sun rose on Saturday morning, sleepy eyes popped open with excitement all around Granbury. It was Young Eagles Day! 10 experienced pilots from Pecan pre-flighted and prepped their aircraft for the March YE Rally. As kids from the local area checked in for their flight, they had time to ask questions, do a short walk around the aircraft, and buckle up for their first flight. 16 boys and 6 girls soared over beautiful, clear Granbury skies and had a once in a lifetime experience. Not only did they get to fly in an actual airplane, but many of the kids took time to fly a Cessna 172 flight simulator to get some experience. All total, it was a successful day of fun flying 22 Young Eagles!
