B.S. in Aeronautical Engineering at U.S. Air Force Academy. Design team for C-17 at McDonnell Douglas. Worked as Air Traffic Controller at San Jose Reid Hillview. Warbird restoration with Pioneer Aero, and Planes of Fame. First solo in Art Sholl's J-3 Cub in 1969. My father flew, served in USAF in Korea and at Edwards AFB. Grandfather was a pilot in the Aviation Division of the U.S. Signal Corp (later became the Army Air Service, the predecessor to the U.S. Air Force) 1917-1930, then was a corporate pilot for Conoco Oil after 1930, plus a little bit of instructing and travelling barnstorming on the side.
