She never could have imagined what happened next. \nAfter seeking upset training to face her fear of spins\, she was inadvertently launched into the world of competition aerobatics. Elected President of the Northern California International Aerobatic Club Chapter 38\, she gained aerobatic prowess and subsequently showered with glorious aerobatic glory. \nWhile crewing at the Reno National Championship Air Races\, the trajectory of life shifted when Bob Hoover signed the boob of her Nice Pitts t-shirt. Little could she know this escapade would launch a new career as an aviation journalist. \nBeth will reveal just how a math phobic English major became a noted expert on emerging aerospace technology. She will explain how she finds topics to write about\, share her favorite stories\, and advise which shoulder to turn to when the angel and devil are dancing. \nBIO\nBeth E. Stanton is an accomplished pilot\, writer and speaker. Since following a wild hair to learn how to fly at age 41\, she has flown competition aerobatics\, helicopters\, electric aircraft\, drones\, and was a test pilot for a prototype eVTOL contraption. \nShe authors feature articles and columns for aviation publications\, and is writing a memoir. Her absolute favorite thing is the Innovation\, Cutting Edge Developments column she writes for EAA Sport Aviation magazine. Every month gets to talk to smart and famous people who are working on some seriously badass projects.
